Howdy!

What an absolutely bonkers first week we've had. Funded in two days, well on our way to our first stretch goal, and still two more weeks to go? Dang!

I want to take this opportunity to shout-out some of the amazing people who've helped bring this campaign to life. Even as someone with a plethora of skills under my belt, there are just some things best left to those with years of experience, you know? Not every author is an illustrator, and I am incredibly lucky to have some amazing artist friends in my corner.

First, a shout-out to Kaizuart who made all the cool, green, pixelated flavor icons scattered throughout the campaign page.



Second shout-out goes to Crimson Chains, who looked at my collection of picrews and went "here's some rough sketches of what Shaw and Eddie could look like". (Kai and CC are crowdfunding juggernauts who have helped me every step of the way!)

Next on the list is the fabulous Hrgwin, who took those sketches along with pages' worth of text and fleshed out Shaw's and Eddie's final designs in a masterfully beautiful way.



And last, but certainly not least in the slightest: my ever-mysterious Friend, who has no online presence outside of the crystal ball on my desk in which they communicate with me through. They are the one who handmade each and every single one of those leather keychains that you can grab as an add-on!

Friend is also the mastermind behind a one-of-a-kind (and horrifically macabre!) item I'll be revealing later on, but until then, here's a little tease:

Any guesses as to what it might be?

This is the part where I mention that if you know anyone who is into horror, even if they're not a reader, you should totally tell them about Monitored Activity. I mean it when I say it has that over-the-top '80s horror movie vibe. Did you know Re-Animator (dir. Stuart Gordon, 1985) was filmed in just 18 days? There's a scene in which you can see the bottle of fake blood used by the actors get flung off screen. Think that, but in literary form.

As fun as "in just 48 hours" sounds, it was more around the 50-hour mark. A huge success still, but not quite as catchy. Regardless, this bad boy of a book is officially coming to a bookshelf and eReader near you!
